NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - In its debut week, Paramount's "Sahara" grossed $18.5 million and topped the U.S. box office, estimated Sunday.

Dimension's "Sin City" made $14 million for a total box office of $51 million.

Fox's "Fever Pitch" grossed $13 million, in its premier week. Audiences were cool on "Fever Pitch," the weekend's other new wide release. The Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon baseball romance opened in third place with 13 million. Last weekend's number-one film, "Sin City," slipped to second place with just over 14 million dollars, lifting its ten-day total to 50-point-seven million.
Queen Latifah's "Beauty Shop" and Bernie Mac's "Guess Who" tied for fourth.
