NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Atlantic Records today announced the launch of Fanbase, a groundbreaking digital fan experience delivered on Adobe AIR technology. T.I., Simple Plan, Shinedown and Pretty Ricky will be the first to offer Fanbase, enabling a fully branded engagement that creates an unprecedented connection between Atlantic's artists and their fans. Through Fanbase, an original Atlantic Records creation, Atlantic becomes the music industry's first company to launch a highly functional, interactive desktop application for the fans of their artists.

Atlantic Records' Fanbase is an application that pulls content about bands from multiple sources into one central location. Fanbase includes a music player allowing fans to listen to the latest music from their favorite Atlantic Records' artists. Additionally, the chat feature allows fans to communicate with others who share a common passion for an Atlantic Records' artist. From updated Simple Plan tour dates to the latest videos from T.I. Fanbase drives a digital fan experience that allows them to interact and express themselves through a rich media experience and form connections based on shared interests and tastes. Fanbase can be downloaded at www.AtlanticRecords.com, as well as all official artists' Web sites.

"We're always looking to elevate the experience and interaction our fans have with our artists," said Eric Snowden Creative Director of Digital Media for Atlantic Records. "Through Fanbase we're delivering that experience digitally, on-demand and in a manner that allows fans to create a much deeper connection with their favorite artists."

To bring the Fanbase audio experience to life, Atlantic collaborated with imeem, one of the leading social networking sites in the U.S. with over 27 million users. imeem allows fans and artists worldwide to discover, interact and express themselves with media, including music, video and photos, and form connections based on shared tastes and interests. Through an integrated imeem music player, Fanbase automatically captures the latest music from a given artist and delivers a streaming playlist directly to Fanbase. Video content supporting Fanbase is driven by YouTube and Brightcove and the chat feature is powered by an integrated Meebo chat window.

"Fanbase is a very cool way for our fans to connect to us directly from their desktop," added Chuck Comeau of Simple Plan. "The features on the application are also a great way for the fans to connect with one another as well. It's been an awesome tool to help build our fan community."

Atlantic's launch of Fanbase illustrates their effort to embrace a wide range of digital initiatives, driving a stronger connection between their world-renowned artists and the fans that love their music. Fanbase represents only a layer in the overall digital platform that Atlantic leverages to create innovative and convenient ways for fans to experience the music and lifestyle of their favorite artists.
