Loren Kramer Releases New Single 'Maybe' Out Now
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Apple-supported artist Loren Kramar has released the new single "Maybe", complete with a beautifully crafted visual component to illustrate a 'change of heart'. "Maybe" was produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, co-written by John Carroll Kirby (Solange, Blood Orange, Sebastian Tellier) and recorded between Vox and Terrible studios in Los Angeles, CA.

In "Maybe" Kramar examines the ups and downs of a rock steady relationship, before determining in the chorus that maybe there's still a chance, with the still indefinite confession "I'm afraid that maybe I'm in love with you." The smooth, introspective new track is a sign of Kramar's return since breaking onto the scene a few years back with the single "My Life", which Rolling Stone deemed as "sensual" and "unabashedly earnest."

For the video, Kramar teamed up with Korean-American director Daniel Oh, a sculptor, photographer and filmmaker who studied at Cooper Union College in New York with him. Kramar is also a multi-faceted creator and former founder/editor-in-chief of the art publication Megazine, and together they created an intimate display of Kramar receiving open-heart surgery to implant a different, engineered heart. Oh created the majority of the props for the music video by hand. He made silicone latex casts of the hearts, hand-painted them, built the operating table (under which Loren's real body was propped), formed molds for the torso, and rigged Loren's basement to create the appearance of a sci-fi operating room. It makes for a mesmerizing, beautifully haunting, almost Westworld-esque scene.

The "Maybe" video also features actors Thomas McDonell, Kate Adams (actress in forthcoming Mike Mills-directed film co-starring Alicia Vikander), and Leena Similu (ceramicist, former head designer at Helmut Lang and Stella McCartney). Kristen Correll is the cinematographer and artist Taylor Shields developed the animated avatar of Kramar.
