LONDON, UK (IFPI) - A new online advert calling on music lovers to "download legally" is being launched today by pro-music, the campaign to promote legitimate services and confront the myths surrounding online piracy.

'The Drummer' can be seen on the international pro-music website www.pro-music.org from today, and is being posted on numerous industry association and pro-music partner websites worldwide. Music industry companies and associations are being asked to forward the link to reach as many people as possible.

The www.pro-music.org campaign was launched in May 2003, and is supported by an international alliance of musicians, performers, artists, publishers, major and independent record companies, and music retailers.

The ad shows a drummer gradually losing all his drums, and his clothes, to an audio soundtrack of someone connecting their computer to the Internet. The message at the end reads: "Give him his kit back. If you love music, download legally."

To see the ad, click on or paste one of these in your browser: The Drummer or https://www.pro-music.org/drummer
