London, UK. (Top40 Charts/ V2 Music) - As part of our ongoing ten year anniversary celebrations, V2 has launched a unique scholarship with the University of Westminster: a no-strings-attached, no-fees-involved opportunity to study for an MA Music Business Management at the University's soon-to-be-launched Westminster Centre of Commercial Music.

As well as having all tuition fees paid by V2, the successful applicant will be given a L5000 living allowance and the choice to study either on a full or part-time basis.

Established in 1999, the MA Music Business Management is the longest running programme of its kind in Europe, offering an unrivalled level of instruction in the business and preparing its students to become tomorrow's industry leaders.

Experienced teaching staff are frequently aided by world leading artists and executives, with Russell Simmons, Pete Waterman, Dave Gilmour, Guy Chambers and Dave Stewart all having assisted recently.

The scholarship underlines V2's commitment to promoting professional development within the UK business - something historically lacking - and offers the perfect opportunity to plough something back into the industry.

'V2's 10th anniversary is focussing on giving something back to the independent sector', said V2 Business Development and Digital Media Director Beth Appleton. 'The passion and professionalism of individuals that work in the music industry is key part of the business and at V2 we have sought to involve ourselves with the music executives of the future and give them an insight into the business. Presenting a series of lectures to Westminster University was thoroughly rewarding and to continue this partnership, we are very proud to be providing a scholarship to invest in a key educational programme for the UK music business'

Commented MA programme Director Sally Gross 'Over the last ten years the music industry in the UK has been making a concerted effort to up the anti in terms of professional standards, and the creation of the MMF and AIM training courses were exactly the kind of positive steps the industry needed.'

'At Westminster we have taken it one step further by developing a masters programme specifically for music industry professionals. Our aim is to produce industry leaders who can operate at the highest level across the ever changing music entertainment panorama'.

Applications are invited from anyone currently working within the UK music industry. Applicants must have a good knowledge of the main challenges faced by the music business today, including (but not limited to) the continuing development of new technologies, new business models, emerging markets and piracy.

They must also demonstrate how undertaking the MA would aid their professional development, with particular reference to the evolution of management structures and practices currently taking place.
Application closing date 31st July 2007.
Enquiries by email directly to Sally Gross at [email protected] enclosing CV and covering letter.
