Academy Award-Winning Lyricist Hal David Releases Indie Rock Production Music CD for Use in Film and Television

LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ APM Music) - Award-winning lyricist Hal David, who wrote the words to all time classic film, TV and American songbook titles 'Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,' 'What the World Needs Now,' 'Close to You,' and 'I'll Never Fall in Love Again,' has joined forces again with production music library giant APM Music to release 'Pop, Rock & Alternative,' a genre-busting collection of new songs with lyrics by Mr. David and music by a group of independent L.A.-based rock artists to create an exciting offering of new music for licensing into film, television, video game, radio and new media productions.

'Hal David has written some of the most endearing and memorable songs in popular music history,' said Adam Taylor, President of APM.
'Now, his brand of infectious lyrics is available with a strong dose of alternative rock flavor that music supervisors are going to love.'

This groundbreaking collaboration between the lyricist and these indie rock artists was recorded at the storied Total Access Studios in Redondo Beach, California, where classic alternative albums by Guns N' Roses, No Doubt, and Sublime were created.

Mr. David's previous collaborations have led to dozens of classics. 'I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to create the lyrics for each of the diverse melodies created by the 'Pop, Rock and Alternative' team,' said Hal David, who over the years has earned 20 gold records, and has been elected into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. 'I feel great songs are inevitable and we made 10 of them working together on this innovative collection.'

'Pop, Rock & Alternative' fuses brand new and undeniably catchy lyrics from David with the edgy riffs and modern beats of today's pop, rock and alternative music scene. The result is 10 riveting tracks capturing hot musical styles ranging from upbeat alternative rock to power-pop ballads to electro-pop grooves. Each track is also presented as an underscore and in :30 and :60 versions to support the needs of television, commercial, film, video game and new media productions.

APM put Mr. David together with songwriters Robert Navarro, Bret Levick, John Andrew Schreiner and Sven Spieker, each accomplished musician-songwriters in their own right, who have collectively contributed to hundreds of production music tracks for APM.

Mr. David's influences include the elegant and uncomplicated writing styles of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer. He began writing songs for such artists as bandleader Sammy Kaye and songstresses Sarah Vaughan and Joanie Sommers and went on to write for Dionne Warwick, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, and Herb Alpert among many others. His Broadway show, "Promises, Promises" received a Grammy, and was nominated for a Tony Award when it first appeared on Broadway. In addition, Mr. David's historic collaboration with composer Burt Bacharach led to writing lyrics for film scores to 'Alfie,' "Casino Royale," "The April Fools," "A House is not a Home," "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," and "Moonraker' among others.

'Pop, Rock & Alternative,' is available now for review and licensing now at www.apmmusic.com/myapm, along with his three prior APM library CDs: 'It's Showtime,' 'Singers and Swingers,' and 'In the Christmas Swing.'
