Adele Speaks Out About The BRITs
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Dawbell PR) "I have a soft spot for The BRITs, but this year feels really special since last year it kick-started my album into what it's become. What a beautiful way to celebrate!"

Following her performance of Someone Like You at last year's awards, the song went straight to Number One in the United Kingdom - marking her very first number one single in the country, where it remained for five weeks. The song also topped the charts in Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, Switzerland and became Adele's second number one in the United States. In July 2011, Someone Like Youbecame the first single of the decade to sell a million units in the United Kingdom and was certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

Adele's album 21 shared similar success, topping charts in more than 26 countries, including the United Kingdom, in which it has become the longest running number one album by a female solo artist. It has since been certified 14 times Platinum in the United Kingdom, and in the United States holds the top position longer than any album since 1993. With global sales of 17 million copies as of January 2012, 21 was the best-selling musical release of 2011 by a mile.

Tune into ITV1 this Tuesday (February 21st) from 8pm to see Adele take to the O2 Arena stage again as she performs at The BRIT Awards 2012 with Mastercard, hosted by James Corden.
