New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Jacob Lusk will never forget the moment they called his name as one of the finalists on the 2011 edition of "American Idol." Since that time Jacob has continued performing around the Los Angeles area in various plays and church events.

He has released his first EP, My Love Story, and with all that is going on in the world, he wanted his first single to give help to those in need. In a discussion with his label, TNT Recordings (original label for Tupac Shakur and Digital Underground) and his management team, they found that what they had in common was they all had lost someone dear to them through suicide. Out of that conversation the video for "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark" was born.
"I lost someone near and dear to me last year and it appeared to be a suicide," stated Lusk. "My family and I are still trying to make sense of it. I was raised in the church and taught that you share your blessings. "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark," is a blessing and I want the video to reach out to let those experiencing suicidal thoughts know that we love them and want to help."

The recently released video coincides with September being National Suicide Prevention Month. "The growing numbers of suicides be they from depression, addiction, and bullying are staggering," stated Atron Gregory, Executive Producer of the EP. "We are encouraged by the enthusiasm that we have received thus far from the following hotlines."
