New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Brookes Company) - Independent singer-songwriter Ana Egge announces plans to record her seventh solo album with Grammy winner Steve Earle signed on to produce. Earle and Egge will head to Woodstock in the fall to record at the famed Levon Helm Studio where such iconic artists as The Band, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Elvis Costello and My Morning Jacket have laid tracks.

Ana has realized a dream securing luminary Steve Earle to produce her newest effort. Earle has long been regarded as one of the finest songwriters and musicians of our time. Ana explains 'I thought of asking Steve based on the songs that I've been writing for this new album. They are mostly pretty stripped down and I've been imagining them still being edgy in their feel or attack on the instruments. He produced my favorite records by my friends Ron Sexsmith and Lucinda Williams, so it just seemed right.' A few days after speaking with Earle, Ana actually dreamt that they were recording at Levon Helm's studio in Woodstock. It was kismet, Steve agreed.

'When a folk musician who writes great songs can deliver them with a voice that is as bluesy as it is beautiful, heads will turn,' notes Metro Santa Cruz. Ana is a triple threat. With the creative soul of a poet, Egge's songwriting prowess has been hailed by many with Rolling Stone noting 'her sharply observed tales of the overlooked and underpaid feel utterly of the moment.' Her powerfully soft and soulful voice has been described by American Songwriter magazine as 'Honeysuckle' with NPR calling it 'Gorgeous.' Add to that some serious guitar playing chops worthy of Norah Jones' guitarist Adam Levy naming Ana one of his top ten favorite guitar players of all time, in the company of Ry Cooder and Daniel Lanois.

Ana's new album will follow up 2009's critically acclaimed Road To My Love, her cover album celebrating the art of sloth Lazy Days, Out Past the Lights, Mile Marker and her debut album River Under the Road, for which she garnered two Austin Music Awards. The Austin Chronicle proclaimed it 'A debut masterpiece worthy of a songwriter decades worldlier than this mere twenty-year old soul.'

Ana has toured non-stop throughout her career, with the exception of a few breaks to build her own guitar and house, sharing the stage with the likes of Lucinda Williams, George Jones, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Shawn Colvin and Ron Sexsmith to name only a few. Recently Ana has been touring throughout Canada and Europe with Canadian chart topper Joel Plaskett (Ana sang on 19 tracks on his latest release). In an incredible career highlight, Ana joined Joel opening for Sir Paul McCartney last year.

Ana's new album will also be the 6th release for Parkinsong Records, an independent non-profit label, founded by the children of a Parkinson's disease sufferer that is dedicated to raising awareness for Parkinson's disease research. Successful concerts hosted by Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and legendary Philadelphia DJ Pierre Robert led to the release of 38 Songs of Hope, a CD compilation featuring Bonnie Raitt, Crosby & Nash, and a who's who of Americana artists including Alejandro Escovedo, Neko Case and Dave Alvin. Following the NPR acclaimed compilation, came the release of Ana Egge's critically-praised Out Past The Lights, Lazy Days, Road To My Love and Interlude, a compilation CD to benefit the MusicCares Foundation featuring Kelly Willis, Eleni Mandell, and Chuck Prophet amongst others. Inspired by its slogan "Music Is Hope," Parkinsong is proud to again join forces with Grace Records to release Ana Egge's upcoming album to be produced by Steve Earle and distributed by MRI/RED Distribution.
