SYDNEY, Australia (SONY BMG Music Australia) - The lovely & super talented Brooke Fraser is set to appear on 'She Will Have Her Way', the forthcoming Finn brothers tribute album. Brooke will feature alongside some of Australia & NZ's finest singer/ songwriters including Sarah Blasko, Missy Higgins, Little Birdy and Kasey Chambers.
The Finn brothers have a special place in musical history, and now an album has been produced to pay tribute to the legendary songwriting duo best known for fronting Split Enz and Crowded House. One of New Zealand's biggest musical success stories herself, it makes perfect sense then that Brooke Fraser has recorded a version of their beautiful 'Distant Sun' for the album, entitled 'She Will Have Her Way' and set for release in Australia on September 24.

"If you're a New Zealander, the music of the Finn brothers is practically part of your DNA," says Brooke. "I was honoured (and daunted, to be honest) to be asked to be a part of this project paying tribute to these incredible songwriters."

Other artists appearing on the album include Sarah Blasko performing 'Don't Dream it's Over', New Buffalo with 'Four Seasons in One Day', Little Birdy doing 'Six Months in a Leaky Boat', Lisa Miller with 'I Hope I Never' and Missy Higgins performing 'Stuff and Nonsense', among others. Brooke says she chose the beautiful 'Distant Sun' because she knew she'd enjoy re-working it.

"Their catalogue is pretty vast, and 'Distant Sun', a song with a killer melody and great mood, was one that struck me immediately as one I could have a lot of fun reproducing," she says. "The boys and I had a great time recording the track up at The Grove with producer David Skeet and I hope people find the results a good listen."

Brooke has just returned from a month in West Hollywood, where she spent time experimenting with co-writing in the lead-up to her second album. Now back in her home base of Sydney, Brooke will spend the next few months writing new material for album #2, but first, there's a special show for fans who missed out seeing her at the Vanguard recently...

Making up for a postponed gig last month, Brooke is once again hitting the Vanguard stage for a one-off show next Saturday, September 10, and seeing as all of her last Sydney shows sold out, you'll need to get in quick for tickets to see her - get cracking!
