LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Glastonbury Festival PR) - Bruce "
The Boss" Springsteen has been confirmed to headline Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, UK, next month.
Having never played a festival before, Springsteen took some convincing. Glastonbury organiser, Emily Eavis, told BBC 6 Music. "It's been our mission for quite a long time to get Bruce...I thought it was quite unlikely, especially when the agent said, 'Glaston-what?'"
"It's quite hard to understand why you should play a festival for not much money when you're being offered quite a lot to go elsewhere.
"We put together some information and said 'This is what happens, this is all the money that goes to charity'. Pretty quickly he said: 'Yes'. It's amazing."
Bruce Springsteen will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night (June 27) of the festival.
Also Franz Ferdinand have been confirmed to headline Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, UK, next month.
The band have been touring consistently following the release of the highly acclaimed 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand' late last year.
They are also confirmed to play T In The Park, Rock Wertcher, and Fugi Rock later this year.
