New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ghost Stories Live 2014, the new concert film and live album from Coldplay, has arrived! Earlier this year, the band invited a handful of fans to a small performance of the
Ghost Stories album at Sony Studios in Los Angeles. This film gives fans an exclusive look inside the intimate performance.
Chris
Martin describes the concert as a very special moment for the band. "The magic theater built by our incredible crew with the 360 screens was literally a dream come true. And it was the first time anyone outside of our studio has heard the new songs. This film is basically our original version for the
Ghost Stories album."
Filmed by Grammy-nominated director Paul Dugdale,
Ghost Stories Live 2014 is a full visual representation of the band's sixth studio album. In an exclusive interview with Beats, Chris
Martin says
Ghost Stories is "probably an album about heartbreak, but its not saying that something's broken, so you should just give up. It's saying something's broken, so let's work out how to fix it and make it better than it was before."
"A Sky Full of Stars" truly represents this idea, as
Martin says it is the band's most "important" song on the album, lyrically. "Over time, I hear it, and I think - that's how I want to live my life."
While
Ghost Stories Live 2014 includes a live video of the entire album, fans can expect to find some bonus features. The CD/DVD package includes eight music videos from the
Ghost Stories album, including new videos for "
All Your Friends" and "Ghost Story" as well as an Extended Director's Cut of "Magic."
If that's not enough for you, the band also released an interactive video for "Ink" earlier this month. The beautiful, animated video features a man looking for his lost love, and users can click through to choose his fate. If you haven't already, check out the video here.
