Coral Springs, Florida, will be rocking out to popular U2 songs to teach the Bible in a new message series called "God Loves U2" starting June 25-26, 2011. The church's band will be covering several of U2's biggest hits including "
Vertigo", "
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", and "With or Without You", among others.
"U2 has influenced our culture for the last three decades. In fact, they're still selling out stadiums around the world and impacting people from all walks of life," said Pastor David Hughes. "With the influence that U2 has had on our society, and since they're playing at the Sun Life Stadium on June 29th, it only made sense to use their music as a tool to connect our culture with Jesus Christ."
Whether a member of the church or not, the entire community is invited to join Church by the Glades for the 3-week "God Loves U2" message series. Guests will experience high-energy music, and discover just how relevant the Bible is in today's world. The church is known for their "no perfect people allowed" mantra and is passionate about sharing the hope they have, in Christ, with the world.
"We are a community of messed up, jacked up people who are loved by Jesus," said Pastor David Hughes. "We simply want to share that life-changing truth with clarity and creativity." Recently named the 35th fastest-growing church in America, Church by the Glades has experienced explosive growth. Both the construction of their new state of the art 2,000 seat worship center, due to be completed the end of July 2011 at their Sawgrass campus, and the recent opening of their Sample Road campus are proof that something rare is happening at Church by the Glades.
