NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) Cyndi Lauper opted for all black attire when she surprised Arcade Fire's audience at New Orleans Jazzfest on Friday by jumping on stage and joining the Grammy-winning band for a pair of jams.
Before the band launched into 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun,' Win Butler announced, 'This is a song by one of our all-time favorite artists, Cyndi Lauper.'
Later Cyndi took up backing vocal duty and strummed the dulcimer while the band played 'Sprawl II.'
Lauper toured Australia recently on the back of her new album 'Memphis Blues.'
The Canadian band headlined the Acura Stage at the event on Friday, with other stage headliners including Willie Nelson and Lupe Fiasco.
The group recently revealed that they are to reissue 'The Suburbs' later in the year with two new tracks and a bonus DVD.
