NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Top40 Charts/ Anti-Records) - On April 22 Anti-Records will release two versions of 'Mr. Love Justice,' Billy Bragg's first album in 6 years. The deluxe version features an extra CD with Billy performing the entire album live in the studio. Billy performed solo during this year's SXSW festival and will tour solo this spring and summer as well. Stay tuned for tour dates.
The deluxe edition will feature exclusive packaging and liner notes. Both versions of the album will be available digitally on the day of release as well.
The standard version of the album will also be released on vinyl packaged with a special card to digitally download the deluxe edition for free.
The standard version of 'Mr. Love Justice' features Bragg backed by his steady band The Blokes - Ben Mandelson (lap steel guitar and bouzouki); Lu Edmonds (electric guitar and vocals); Martyn Barker (drums); and Simon Edwards (bass), plus special guests Robert Wyatt and Ian Maclagan.
As the title implies, 'Mr. Love Justice' explores both the frailties of romantic connection, and the systems that connect us all, sometimes within the same song. The result feels like a career-defining statement from an artist whose singular body of work stretches back a quarter of a century.
