LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Rogers & Cowan) EMG goes head to head with iconic companies in the battle of outdoor advertising and continues the company's strategy of being an innovator in the space of branded media and entertainment. Four billboards on the Sunset Strip, and one 80-foot Van Wagner wallscape on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, will be up throughout the month of July featuring different images of Eruption
Music Group recording artist, writer, producer and CEO
Marco Bosco. The wall is located on Selma and Vine just off Hollywood Boulevard. The wallscape, according to
Marco Bosco, who was also the art director of the project, 'is a portrait of the music business, past, present and future. There is a meaning and a code behind it. It's more than advertising. I am consciously bringing art back to the forefront of society, and the billboards are a great canvas.'
'Now that the design is finished,' Bosco continues, 'I see the similarities between this and the paintings in the Uffizi in Florence. Artists like Botticelli used imagery and symbolism to express an idea without words. My stance is also reminiscent of Cellini's Perseo [Persius] statue that stands outside the Loggia dei Lanzi. Sometimes I don't realize how much being Italian impacts my work, but growing up in Italy has engrained art and culture in my subconscious.'
EMG continues its campaign in New York city in Astoria, Queens, beginning July 25 on Ditmars and 31st Street, as an homage to the place where Bosco began his career. Says Bosco, 'I started my career at nine years old in Queens, just a few blocks away at the Silvercup Studios. Like Jay Z or Mr. Combs, my company and I decided to purchase one board for a long period of time to establish our brand and presence in the city - the area that has given me the heart, inspiration and knowledge to bring this business to another level.'
The record label component of EMG has released three Marco Bosco singles to iTunes and digital outlets worldwide that the company is concurrently presenting. The songs are 'I Wonder,' 'Another Night (hybrid),' and 'However.' The self-titled Marco Bosco EP will be released in the fall. Plans are also underway to bring EMG's Argentinean rock group Infierno18 to Los Angeles for a fall tour.
The month of July also marks the beginning of a branding initiative and collaboration with Delta Airlines in which every Delta flight worldwide will include an EMG channel that features the aforementioned Marco Bosco singles, as well as a yet unreleased song that can only be heard in-flight. The channel also has an exclusive interview with Bosco conducted by Dan Brown of 'Music Connection' magazine. Additionally, with the inclusion of the song 'I Wonder' on Delta's boarding music program, Bosco joins an elite group of artists such as Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson and John Mayer who will have their songs played on the overhead speakers during boarding and after landing.
