Cincinnati, OH (Electrofest V2.0 Official Website) - Electrofest v2.0, the second annual electronic music festival, will team up with the monthly music showcase
Exile on Main in Cincinnati's Main Street Entertainment District on May 5th to present a hugely expanded lineup of twenty-two electronically based bands of diverse genres from across the country.
The bands will be showcased at Alchemize's first floor stage, Coopers on Main, Rhythm and Blues Café (RBC), and Courtyard Café and a fifth venue to be announced. A five-dollar cover will allow attendees ages 21+ access to all five venues.
'Last year's inaugural Electrofest was a huge success,' event organizer Amy Whitaker, vocalist and keyboardist for local band Diet Audio said. 'When word got out that Electrofest v2.0 was in the works, the response was tremendous. We had to expand the event to five stages. Exile on Main offered to team up with us, and it was a perfect fit. I'm really excited to bring another great music event downtown. Music and arts events like Electrofest are an integral part of what is needed in Cincinnati.'
This year's festival will feature twenty-two bands and DJs. Twelve of these bands include hometown heavy hitters Hungry Lucy, Diet Audio, Da Mutts, (in)camera, Roesing Ape, 2 Turntables and a Saxophone, Abiyah, 1 Track All Stars, DJ The Late Circuit, Elation, Entheos and Embers is Sammy.
The festival will also feature ten bands from cities across the country including Midpoint Music Festival band Echostream from NYC; BloodWIRE coming all the way from Oakland, CA; Chiasm of Ann Arbor, MI; DJ Flash from Des Moines, IA; Anna Ranger, Pop Filter, Delete-Complete, Cale and Liquefaction of Columbus; and Oxymoronatron from Dayton.
'The incredible thing about this year's festival is the amazing variety of music that will showcase under the electronic heading,' Whitaker said, 'the bands encompass so many genres, including electronica, trip hop, jazz, electro-rock, hip hop, experimental, goth and almost everything in between. The fact that we are able to draw from bands across the country says a lot about the excitement surrounding this event
Electrofest v2.0 will once again benefit Save the Animals Foundation (www.staf.org), a local no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.
Electrofest began in 2005 in an attempt to bring some cohesion to the Cincinnati electronic music scene. It included eight bands and a DJ, and was held at the Southgate House.
