Eliza Doolittle To Release Self-titled Debut Album On April 19, 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) Eliza Doolittle, who's been thrilling fans across the Atlantic with her breezy singles "Rollerblades," "Skinny Genes," and "Pack Up," will perform at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 17th. The London-born singer and songwriter will also support Plan B for several key dates, including shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle and will headline her own New York City gig. All Doolittle's tour dates are listed below. In addition, Doolittle will perform "Skinny Genes" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 15th.

Doolittle is touring the U.S. in support of her self-titled debut album, which will be released by Capitol Records on April 19th. Influenced by classic pop, old soul, and the appeal of simple, strong melodies built from clanking percussion and jazzy licks, the album is bursting at the seams with life and enthusiasm and vigor - just like its creator. She marries breezily beautiful melodies and witty, erudite lyrics with a delightfully off-kilter twist and a knack for a killer hook. The opening one-two punch of "Rollerblades" and "Skinny Genes" sets the tone perfectly, summoning to mind lost songs from the Motown era by the Marvelettes and The Supremes, complete with infectious whistling. She co-wrote each of the album's 13 tracks, collaborating with a host of top-notch songwriters and producers, including Greg Kurstin, Steve Chrisanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae), the late Jonny $ (Kylie, Massive Attack), and Craigie Dodds (Amy Winehouse).

Released overseas in July 2010, Doolittle's debut album has been certified platinum in the U.K., while "Pack Up" has been certified gold. "Pack Up" landed a spot on iTunes Rewind as one the best-selling songs of 2010, with "Rollerblades" scoring a spot on iTunes as "Single of the Week" and NPR's World Cafe naming her as an artist to watch in 2011. Her EP subsequently appeared in the Top 10 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and is currently available for download on iTunes. The EP features audio and video for "Skinny Genes," "Pack Up," and "Rollerblades," as well as a video interview with the singer.
