Everett Bradley's Holidelic Reveals Three Funky Videos In Advance Of Concerts At Joe's Pub
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Holidelic Official Website) …And then Tiny Tim Said, "Papa, Why Are You Wearing an Illuminated Afro and Silver Platform Boots???" Get Into the Funky Holiday Spirit with New Videos and Upcoming Concerts via Everett Bradley's 'HOLIDELIC'. Imagine if George Clinton and The Rockettes Had a Baby at Christmastime. Holiday coverage would not be complete without an inclusion of Everett Bradley's acclaimed 'HOLIDELIC'. With three new music videos (see links below) and a series of upcoming concerts in New York, Philadelphia, Northampton and Hudson NY, 2011 is poised to be the biggest year ever for the unique Funk extravaganza.

Last Christmas, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, producer, actor, dancer Everett Bradley sold out a remarkable five concerts at Joe's Pub in NYC. HOLIDELIC returns to the newly redesigned venue on December 16, 17 & 19 for four big 'Holiday Freak' shows. Ticket details follow.

For a taste of what's to come, check out Bradley's three new music videos:

In classic Holidelic irreverence, this miracle on "134th Street" reveals the birth of Papadelic. The setting is an uptight traditional Christmas party, as a young boy is opening presents under the tree. One of the gifts is an illuminated white afro...the boy tries it on, not knowing the power it possesses, and in doing so, he turns the party upside down. Ex-porn art director and painter Mark DeMaio conceived this crazy tale and used the video music format as his canvas. The party is cleverly catered with every 1970's trashy sugary treat you can imagine. The video features the Holidelic band and reflects a New York 'urban Christmas' at its raunchiest. This song was written by Everett and Mikiodo, and it clearly evokes Peter Tchaikovsky's classic holiday piece 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies'…the genius of this funk fusion might just have Peter rolling in his grave, with laughter and utter delight.

Holidelic's first true music video, "HOLIDELIC," is actual live footage shot at New York's legendary Joe's Pub, December 2010. It was a special season as it was the unveiling of their first self-titled album, which has since received rave reviews. This video gives you a sense of the feeling, the attitude, the funk, and holiday spirit of the live show. Featured in this video is Holidelic's funky band and some of the guests that have made memorable contributions to the live show, including B52's Fred Schneider, pop chanteuse Lucy Woodward, Dancing Trombonist Jonathan Arons, saxophonist and creator of East Village Opera Company Peter Kiesewalter, and more. The song was written by Everett Bradley and long time collaborator (and Indiana University School of Music classmate) Gregory Parratto.

This soulful video was conceived, directed, shot and edited by the mighty Mikiodo (Mike Chiodo). Mike is somewhat a freak of nature in that he wears many hats as a creator and is Everett Bradley's muse in many if not all creative endeavors. Mike is a songwriting partner, photographer, is in charge of all visual designs for the Holidelic brand, and is now taking the wheel as a videographer. Mike thought it might be interesting to put Everett's character Papadelic in a church setting, as his 70's holiday funk get- up is a stark contrast to the stained glass and serene sanctuary. However, the setting is quite appropriate when you hear Papa reminisce and preach about the ups and downs of our Christmas Pasts, and eventually ends up testifying in the pulpit at the end of the video. The song was co-written with Bobby Mcferrin writer Don Rosler.

Still to come is Everett's video for FROSTY.
Last year's events earned pre- and post-show raves, with New Yorker Magazine previewing as "a flashy, bass-heavy retro-futuristic take on the holidays," TIME OUT NY calling the performances a "Holiday Funk-tacular," coverage on NBC-TV, a preview article by Joe Dziemianowicz in The NY Daily News, GOOD DAY NY preview segment (https://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/good_day_ny/cheap-fun-things-to-do-over-the-holidays-20101220), WNYC /NPR Gig Alert (https://culture.wnyc.org/articles/music-hub/2010/dec/20/gig-alert-everett-bradleys-holidelic/) and much more. For the first time ever, Everett Bradley's Holidelic will travel to other cities this year, bringing a funky freaky Holiday escape to fans in Boston/Northampton, Philadelphia, and Hudson, NY - an itinerary follows.

Everett Bradley and his wacky band of misfits are loading up the Mother Sleigh - bringin' a groovalicious par-tay to Manhattan...and BEYOND! "We celebrate all shapes, sizes, colors and beliefs, so come freak out, all you HOLIDAY FREAKS!"

Last year's pre-Christmas concerts at Joe's Pub also doubled as the CD-release party for Bradley's 'Holidelic' album -- a fan-financed 14-song seasonal collection that evokes Sly Stone, Prince, P-Funk and other seminal artists. NY POST/Hollywood Reporter critic Frank Scheck raved via his 'Scheck On The Arts' blog, ""Not since James Brown's Christmas Album has there been a Yuletide-themed collection as funky as this," adding that the CD is "relentlessly fun and joyful".

More about 'Holidelic':
Holidelic blends the musical influences of 1970's and '80's funk and soul bands in original songs that celebrate diversity, mild familial seasonal dysfunction, individuality and holiday booty shaking. Since its inception in 2002, Everett Bradley's sold-out performances have featured a range of artists from Living Colour's Vernon Reid, hip hop's John Forte to pop chanteuse Lucy Woodward, dancing trombonist Jonathan Arons, and the legendary Celeste Holm; celebrating uniqueness and diversity with the power of the groove as his common denominator. As the songs and audiences grew, so did Everett's contemporary wide-eyed look at the Holiday season, and Holidelic was born. A Special Message From Papadelic: "Prepare yourself for the most exclusive all inclusive holiday party in the universe. Now when I say inclusive, I do mean we do not discriminate, we celebrate all shapes, sizes, colors, and beliefs. Your only requirement is to bring an open mind, an open heart, and a promise to shake yo rump!" Visit www.holidelic.com

More About Everett Bradley:
This Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, producer, actor, dancer has been gracing New York with his multi-flavored art for the past 14 years. He has done just about everything from touring and performing in and out of the studio with musical giants like Bobby McFerrin, Jon Bon Jovi, and David Bowie to being the musical director for Carly Simon and for the last 4 years has been a permanent fixture in the Hall and Oates band as a vocalist and percussionist. Abroad, he has topped the charts in Europe with his dance classic, "I Luv U Baby", and was the first American to perform and direct the British percussive sensation "STOMP." He was co-writer, co-arranger, Theatre World Award winner, and star of the hit musical, "SWING," which won a Tony and Grammy-nomination for best Broadway Cast recording! Everett's first full length CD, AS EVER IT IS, received rave reviews from both Billboard and People magazine and the haunting ballad "Whadify" was featured in the closing 2001 episode of Dawson's Creek. His 2002 all original Holiday CD entitled, "TOY," is a joyous, funky, collection of new Christmas tunes. This self produced album features duets with Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, siren Ann Hampton Callaway, and trumpet great Chris Botti. On the flip side, Everett is also the musical director of Our Time Theatre Company, an artistic home for young people that stutter, where he teaches singing, drumming, and songwriting techniques. Everett currently has a co-written show running at the Caldwell Theater in Boca Raton, Fl called Vices: A Love Story. His new album and holiday show, "HOLIDELIC" will be featured at New York's legendary Joe's Pub in December.
