Entertainment TV - 'The World's No 1 Wildest and Sexiest Party,' announced the winners of its Second Annual Indie Band competition, which was run in collaboration with Sonicbids. This also marks the first-ever Sonicbids-sponsored Friday Night Exotic Erotic Expo Concert Festival, beginning 7 p.m., on October 24, 2008, and incredibly, the concert is included in the $20 Expo admission.
Hundreds of bands submitted entries to perform at the Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo, October 24 and 25, 2008, through Sonicbids' Electronic Press Kit system. The 3 winning bands, THE BURNING OF ROME from San Diego, MUD from San Francisco and Motley Crue tribute band, CANIVAL OF SIN, from British Columbia, Canada, will share the stage with legendary, the original DEACON JONES and THE JOHN LEE HOOKER BAND, master bluesmen at their best.
Blending elements of show tune pop and horror shock-rock, THE BURNING OF ROME's musically bipolar nature is more than a disease; it's a musical phenomenon, and MUD, all the way from Guam, figured out a way to migrate thousands of miles across the ocean to make their new home in San Francisco, and land spots at SXSW, the CMJ Music Marathon and the Vans Warped Tour. A band of staggering talent and showmanship, CARNIVAL OF SIN, all the way from British Columbia, Canada, considered the best Motley Crue tribute band in the world, defines the hardcore musical and visual antics of the Rock and Roll's most notorious Bad Boys.
Headlining the evening is Deacon Jones, considered one the best bluesmen in the world, and the John Lee Hooker Band. Called the 'Ambassador of the Blues,' and a five time winner of 'Best Keyboardist of the Year' by various Blues Organizations, Deacon has been mentored by the best: twenty years with the revered "King of the Boogie," John Lee Hooker, serving as his emcee, bandleader, and of course, organ player. Deacon Jones and the John Lee Hooker Band's searing blues rounds out the diverse Exotic Erotic Weekend musical line-up.
