'American Idol Extra' premieres on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 pm ET with an encore performance at 10:30 pm ET to give fans the whole story and the ultimate 'American Idol' backstage pass immediately after each episode ends. Fox Reality brings its viewers inside the heart-racing drama and is the first to interview each eliminated contestant from the Top 12, every week until the season finale.
A veteran host of numerous popular reality shows including 'Outback Jack' and 'Shop 'Til You Drop,' Roberto joins Fox Reality as host of the second season of 'American Idol Extra'. Returning co-hosts and former 'American Idol' Top 12 finalists Mikalah Gordon and Matt Rogers will go even further behind the scenes with exclusive up close and personal interviews. They'll get comments and reactions on performances from family and friends of contestants, special celebrity guests, and even contestants who were let go earlier in the current season.
Viewers will get an inside look at the remarkable production team that helps create the excitement and tension of every 'American Idol' episode. Viewers will hear from the show's producers, director, and wardrobe and makeup/hair departments. The show will also offer a peek at contestant auditions and provide updates on some of the past season's finalists.
