LONG BEACH, Calif. (Geneon Entertainment) - Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. and Japan's leading animation studio Production I.G announced today the signing of a creative partnership between the two companies in the creation, development and production of an animated music video for internationally renowned French music diva Mylene Farmer.

Drawing upon Geneon Entertainment's extensive business partnerships and strategic ties within the anime industry and Production I.G's proven body of critically-acclaimed animated works, this unprecedented joint venture will result in the completion of Farmer's latest music video, "Peut-etre toi," which will be entirely animated.

"This joint collaboration between Geneon and world-famous powerhouse animation studio Production I.G will allow both companies to maximize our creative strengths and resources, while opening the doorway to producing more high-quality projects in the future," said Eiji Orii, President/CEO, Geneon Entertainment.

Prior to this announcement, Geneon Entertainment had bolstered its expansion into the anime market with the recent assigned management of a 2.0 billion yen investment fund arising from a joint venture between its parent company, Dentsu Inc. and the Mitsubishi Corporation.

Long established within the animation field for its high standards of animation, Production I.G had produced the international smash features, "Ghost in the Shell" and "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence" along with its high-profile TV counterpart, "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" and its follow-up, "Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd Gig." The studio is also familiar to moviegoers for the animation segment in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill: Vol. 1." More recently, the studio has produced new anime TV series such as "Blood+" and "IGPX," the feature film "xxxHOLiC - A Midsummer Night's Dream," and Mamoru Oshii's latest directorial effort, "Tachigui: The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters."

As the top attraction and premier singer in France's pop music scene, superstar artist Mylene Farmer's records have cumulatively sold in the millions, making her that country's most commercially successful female music artist, including a footnote mention in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the top-selling music single ("Desenchantee") of all time. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, but raised in France, Farmer has built an extensive discography of albums, as well as highly artistic and visually intoxicating music videos, garnering fans throughout Europe, as well as within the United States.
