Gentleman Jake's 'Shambolic Nation' Album Puts The Groove Back In Rock N' Roll, Spawns New Single/Video 'The Poke'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) If you take a look around at the landscape of rock n' roll, it's becoming increasingly hard to locate artists that are injecting their own personality into their work and/or trying to stick out from the rest of pack. That's why we should be thankful for a man by the name of Gentleman Jake. From his latest rockin' album, 'Shambolic Nation,' comes a new single and video for the tune "The Poke," which has also been the recipient of an absolutely made-for-the-dance-floor remix, courtesy of Arthur Baker (which has already proven quite popular on the "dance island" of the world, Ibiza).

Based in Paris, Gentleman Jake's music could provide the perfect soundtrack for patrons who have long occupied a smoky, local bar, that have decided to finally get up and get their groove thing on. What you get is an impressively original sound, as evidenced by such standout cuts as the swaggering "Man to Avoid" (of which a video was filmed for), the sultry "El Corazon," the acoustic blues of "Memories Gone," the rocking (and exceptionally-titled) "Shake That Fat," the jazzy "Rumba Palace," and of course, the aforementioned "The Poke."

Best known for his work with hip-hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Planet Patrol, as well as first wave new wavers New Order, Baker adds a whole new dimension to "The Poke" - a song which lyrically focuses on "Facebook culture" - of which his remix is included as the last track on 'Shambolic Nation.'

Rounding out Gentleman Jake's band is a host of other talented musicians, including keyboardist Raphaƫl Garraud, guitarist/bassist/keyboardist David Ranger, and drummer David Gerbi. Jake has performed at some of the most legendary music venues throughout the years, including CBGB's, Studio 54, Max's Kansas City, 9:30 Club, Mabuhay Gardens, etc.

Just when it seemed like rock n' roll was completely played out and predictable, along comes Gentleman Jake, who is prepared to shake things up with "Shambolic Nation".
