St. Louis, MO. (Top40 Charts/ Nonesuch Records) - Now is the time to see K.D. Lang in concert. Her current tour highlights the critically acclaimed new release, Watershed, lang's first collection of original songs in almost seven years. Described as a snapshot of the singer/songwriter's aesthetic at this particular moment in her career, Watershed graciously pays homage to the musical path she has taken during the last 25 years. Lang's dedicated core following and casual fans of her chart-topping hit "Constant Craving" will all appreciate what has been hailed as her most confident and revealing work to date. Lang will perform Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. in the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Tickets are $100, $65, $55 and $40 and are on sale now by calling 314.516.4949, or by visiting www.touhill.org.

Known for her inimitably sultry voice, country roots, and collaborations with the likes of Tony Bennett, lang ranked No 33 on VH-1's 100 Greatest Women in Rock & Roll in 1999 and No 26 on CMT's 40 Greatest Women in Country Music in 2002.

Of Watershed, lang explains, "(it) is like a culmination of everything I've done - there's a little bit of jazz, a little country, a little of the Ingenue sound, a little Brazilian touch. It really feels like the way I hear music, this mash-up of genres, and I think it reflects all the styles that have preceded this in my catalogue." In addition to writing and singing, the Grammy-award winner produced the album, the first time lang has taken on this additional role. James Hunter of Rolling Stone says, "Watershed is first-rate singer-songwriter music; lang fuses the various styles she has tapped - country, pop, Brazilian - with an alluring integration. She produced herself, and when a steel guitar waltzes in with charming rightness on the otherwise art-song "I Dream of Spring," or soulful soprano tone floods the symphonic air on "Close Your Eyes," her work sings. With Watershed, k.d. lang does what the gifted and the lucky always should: improve as time passes."

K.D. Lang will perform Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $100, $65, $55 and $40 and are available at the Touhill Performing Arts Center Ticket Office; online at www.touhill.org; or by phone at 314.516.4949; and toll-free at 866.516.4949. The Touhill's Ticket Office is located at One University Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63121. All St. Louis area students receive a 10% discount on two tickets with their I.D. Group and senior discounts are also available.

The Touhill Performing Arts Center is located on the north campus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, just 10 minutes from Clayton. (Exit 240 from I-70). There is ample free parking and the UMSL North Campus MetroLink Station is just steps from the Touhill's Main Entrance.

Now in its sixth season of presenting the finest in the performing arts to the St. Louis region, the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center opened its doors in September 2003. The $52 million facility designed by Pei Cobb Freed and Partners, features the 1,625-seat Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall and the 350-seat E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater. The not-for-profit Center is the jewel of the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus and is the first impetus and focal point for creating an arts district for students at the University.
