New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Grizzly Bear have announced the August 18 release of 'Painted Ruins,' their highly anticipated fifth full-length album, and first for RCA Records. In addition, the band has shared new album track "Mourning Sound." That song follows "Three Rings," another track from 'Painted Ruins' released earlier this month and hailed as "spellbinding" (Rolling Stone), "insistent" (The New York Times), and "a sonically ambitious return" (Pigeons & Planes).

Grizzly Bear - Chris Bear, Ed Droste,
Daniel Rossen and Chris Taylor - spent the better part of two years writing and recording the eleven new compositions on 'Painted Ruins.' Taylor produced the album with sessions taking place primarily at Allaire Studios in upstate New York, and at various locations around Los Angeles, including his own Terrible Studios (Three members of
Grizzly Bear now live in Los Angeles; Rossen lives in
Santa Fe, NM).
