NASHVILLE, TN (nashvillesongwriters.com) - Hit songwriter Stephony Smith has been added to the Pro Songwriter Panel line-up at NSAI Monday taking place Monday, September 25th at Belmont University's Grand Atrium.

Of all the music industry panels for songwriters, NSAI Monday is the reality check of the songwriting business. On Monday, September 25th, the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) will sponsor two different panels – the Pro Songwriter Panel and the Publisher/A&R Panel - each tailored specifically for the professionally-driven songwriter. Attendee songs will be selected for critique at each panel. If a songwriter's goal is to get a hit song, NSAI Monday may be the most important event he/she will attend all year.

Stephony Smith has written 100 album cuts for artists including Wynonna, Shania Twain, SHeDAISY, Barbra Streisand, Martina McBride, The Dixie Chicks, Shelby Lynne, Lonestar, and Diamond Rio. Smith's No 1 hit "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill was the first song in 20 years to stay at No 1 for six weeks in the Country market. Smith's other No 1 songs include "Perfect Love" by Trisha Yearwood, "How Was I to Know" by Reba McEntire, "Yes" by Chad Brock and "Back When" by Tim McGraw. Smith's song "Big Star", performed by Kenny Chesney, went to No 2 on the charts while "What Do I Know," performed by Richochet, and "Go Away," performed by Lorrie Morgan, both reached No 3.

Smith joins an esteemed panel of pro songwriters that also includes Craig Wiseman ("Live Like You Were Dying" - Tim McGraw), Tim Nichols ("Girls Lie Too" - Terri Clark), and Steve Bogard ("Wherever You Are" - Jack Ingram). The collection of award-winning songwriters wi ll discuss what they did to make their songs break the music business barrier and get noticed. Each songwriter will trace the evolution of one of their hit songs. From the 'I think it's ready stage' to the 'sign on the dotted line stage.' Attendees will also receive advice and feedback on visual imagery in songwriting, personal tips for making it in the music business and more.

NSAI will also present a Publisher/A&R Panel as part of NSAI Monday. Music Row Publishers and Label Reps will take songs from attendees and treat them as though they are a commercial pitch, explaining why they choose and don't choose songs. Publishers will give insider advice on the tricks of the publishing trade and tell attendees what a writer has to do to break through to and land in the office of a major publisher. The esteemed panel of industry heavyweights includes: Kos Weaver (Warner/Chappell Music), Troy Tomlinson (Sony/ATV Music), Jim Catino (RCA Records), and Carla Wallace (Big Yellow Dog Music).

The Pro Songwriter Panel will be held from 9 – 11 AM at Belmont University 's Grand Atrium. The Publisher/A&R Panel will be held from 1 – 3 PM at Belmont University 's Grand Atrium.
For more information or to register for NSAI MONDAY, visit www.nashvillesongwriters.com or call 1-800-321-6008. Cost is $40 Per Panel for NSAI Members and $50 Per Panel for Non-Members.
