New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Desmond Child Official Website) - Songwriter/Producer Desmond Child - known for his work with Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, Kelly Clarkson, Aerosmith and countless others - has reached the No 1 spot yet again with his song "Waking Up in Vegas," the fourth single from pop diva Katy Perry's debut album One of the Boys. Child, who is sought after for his collaborative efforts with artists, wrote the song with Perry and Swedish songwriter/producer Andreas Carlsson.

"Katy Perry is the consummate artist. She can do it all and she's totally wack. I adore her!"
For nearly three decades, Desmond Child has reigned as one of music's most successful creative forces. His list of accolades includes Grammy awards, 70 Top 40 singles, and songs that have sold over 300 million albums worldwide. Last year Child was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In addition to songwriting, Desmond is currently working on his Broadway musical Cuba Libre and is developing an animated musical film with DreamWorks. Desmond has spent his career at ASCAP and is currently published by Kobalt Music Publishing.

"The sad part about being number one again, is that there's nothing above it," jokes Child.
