Music Festival seeing an immediate sellout and the addition of 600 seats disappearing nearly as quick, Iceland Airwaves is fast becoming one of the hottest music tickets this year! Musicians and fans from around the world will meet October 14 -18, 2009 as the streets of Reykjavik, Iceland become the stage for concerts, parties and special events during this SOLD OUT show.
Iceland has always been recognized as a hotbed for unique and creative musical talent and the homeland to such legendary performers as Bjork, Sigur Ros, Quarashi, Emiliana Torrini, Jag??ar, Quarashi, and GusGus. Iceland Airwaves has been the proud springboard bringing many of these groundbreaking artists to the world's center stage. Iceland Airwaves is produced in cooperation with Icelandair, The City of Reykjavik and Mr. Destiny Event Management and over the years has seen performances by some of music's hottest and most innovative acts including Suede, The Flaming Lips, The Hives, Fatboy Slim, and Thievery Corporation.
Over 200 bands from around the world are set to perform this year's event including The Drums, FM Belfast, Crystal Antlers, and Casiokids. In addition, the legendary GusGus will close their 2009 world tour with their performance at Iceland Airwaves.

Icelandair is offering these special packages for the Airwaves Festival originating from Boston, New York (JFK) and Seattle including round-trip air, 2 nights hotel, transfers, breakfast and a coveted festival pass.
