Introducing Rebekah Rolland
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Selected as an artist-in-residence for the National Park Service Centennial, Rebekah Rolland spent several weeks at Homestead National Monument working on her debut record, Seed & Silo. The record is in many ways an extension of her work as vocalist, fiddler, and primary songwriter of the nationally-acclaimed group, As We Run (formerly Run Boy Run); though, more than ever, this collection of songs underscores her range and prowess as a lyricist, composer, and performer.

Rolland joined forces with her bandmate and husband, Matt Rolland, in the recording process, and he features prominently throughout on fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and octar. A number of other hometown musicians, along with several New York- and Nashville-based musicians contributed to the album--from Tucson jazz players to a Nashville string duo. The result of these collaborations is a truly rich and vast soundscape.

Rolland's songwriting has previously been on Spotify's 'New Roots' playlist, a finalist in the International Acoustic Music Awards (Americana/Roots category), and on American Public Media's, A Prairie Home Companion. Characteristic of some of the most forceful and compelling voices in folk music, her writing succeeds in building worlds of dust and clay, worn pages and weathered pearls, highways and high rises, the faces and hands, the trials and triumphs that make up the stories of the past and the present.
