LONDON, UK (Film Mania) - Police are investigating an incident involving Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay after he attended the Star Wars premi�re in the West End of London. The singer suffered cuts on his nose and face after the incident with a photographer in St Martin's Lane, Covent Garden at 0125 BST on Wednesday. He had just attended the star-studded premi�re of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones in nearby Leicester Square on Tuesday night. A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: "We can confirm that two males have each made contradictory allegations of common assault against each other. Previous charges "The first complainant suffered cuts to the nose and face and was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew." The photographer did not require treatment, the spokesman added. Police from Charing Cross station are investigating the allegations, although it is not yet clear what action will be taken. The Jamiroquai star had assault charges against him dropped in November last year due to insufficient evidence. High-profile split He had denied assaulting a photographer and smashing his camera equipment outside a London nightclub. The incident came just two months after his high-profile split from girlfriend of three years, Denise Van Outen. And after the Brit awards in February, the star was reported to have sworn and shouted at photographers. As well as success with the funk band, Jay Kay is known for his taste in unusual hats and his love of sports cars. He was due to perform on Wednesday night at the Broadway Boulevard in Ealing, west London.
