LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ ILDK Media) - Award-winning songwriter and avant-soul piano diva, Kristi Martel is one of those rare activist talents whose contribution to the environment, the "green" movement, politics and social issues has continuously been the focus of her career through her music - she has a message to spread and she is not afraid to sing it!

Kristi just finished recording and filming a video for MTV/Logo called "Stand Together" joining a prestigious line up featuring some of the top LGBT artists - a la USA for Africa "We are the World". Some of the other artists include Deepa Soul, Ari Gold, Emory,Kelly King, Colleen Max Fisher of Montal Fish, Queen V., and Kevin Aviance as well as Peppermint.

SOLUTION EVOLUTION (the Production Company) has partnered with the NEW YORK STATE YOUNG DEMOCRATS and the MANHATTAN YOUNG DEMOCRATS. The goal is to eventually pass on the video to the Obama Campaign.

On Saturday October 10 , Solution Evolution premiered as an exclusive, the pre-release of the music video "STAND TOGETHER" - Independent Recording Artists For Change at the event hosted at The DROM NYC. The music video will also be released and put out by MTV/LOGO this month.

In addition, her single "Blessed Community" has been picked up by Democracy Now (on over 700 stations) and she has just embarked on a series of shows on both coasts headlining a variety of landmark places and benefit concerts such as:

Featured on MTV/LOGO, NPR, WERS and voted Rhode Island's Best Alternative Rock Female Vocalist, Kristi Martel has battled successfully against the Goliath of corporate Record label moguls to emerge as one of the most inspirational music heroines of our times.

Kristi Martel is the only child of a single-parent French Canadian Catholic working class New England family, a family who thinks art and radical feminism are anything but ethical or practical or even real. She started making up harmonies to songs when she was three years old and started piano lessons at seven. Two degrees (Bard and Mills College) and 20 years later she's still at it - composing, performing, recording, and teaching music.

In 1994 Kristi won the ASCAP Foundation Grant for Young Composers for her two-voice piece. With that grant she moved to NYC and created her publishing/music production company Sealed Lip Music. Through Sealed Lip Records , Kristi has released six CD s.

She has just recorded her next full length CD dubbed "Sacred Whore" . The work is more jazz and soul and focuses on the universal in our human experience and our need for inner and world peace. Kristi's writing is putting a magnifying glass on how actions affect the world as a whole and how we can find ways to heal.

Now Martel is rightfully reaping the seeds of a well deserved success as she readies to headline the highly anticipated OUT MUSIC AWARDS next February (2009) in Los Angeles, CA. The event is hosted by Out Music Network which enjoys a strategic alliance with MTV/LOGO.

Carrying forth her environmental, social, politcal and humanitarian efforts to benefit the community and the planet as a whole, Martel is one of those rare talents whose remarkable accomplishments within the music arena have undeniably positioned her as a powerful creative voice and an influential force certainly to be reckoned with.
