Los Angeles, CA (Top40-Charts/ LONG LIVE CRIME RECORDS) - Long Live Crime Records, in an unprecedented move for the label, has sold alternative rock band Jonny Lives! to Warner Brothers' incubator label 11-7 Recording Corp. for a six figure deal. Also included in the deal is a back end percentage to Long Live Crime from the first two records released on the new label.

Los Angeles-based Long Live Crime Records has been around for four years and is distributed by Koch Entertainment. Long Live Crime Records' GM Susan Ferris discovered the band in 2004, tracked them for a couple of months and then signed them to an exclusive recording deal in 2005.

Ferris, a 23-year music business veteran, was sitting in a business meeting at Bar 6 on the lower east side of New York when she was approached by the bartender who offered her his band's CD. This bartender was Jonny Dubowsky, lead singer and namesake of Jonny Lives!. Subsequently, Ferris flipped out over the CD, tracked their progress for a couple months, flew out to London to see them perform live and signed them on the spot.

According to Ferris, 'Jonny Lives! has been around the lower east side of New York for a few years, and I am thrilled I was the one who discovered them and showed the rest of the world what they were missing. They are a great band, and I am looking forward to seeing what a bigger machine will do for them.'

'This deal has been very exciting,' continues Ferris. 'We have a lot of great bands on the label and we work really hard for all of them. It is very rewarding when a bigger label comes along, recognizes the work we have done and says, 'Okay, let's take this even further.' Being the GM of a small, independent label basically means you have your hands in everything. So when something like this happens, it truly gives you satisfaction of a job well done.'

Ferris, who continues to sign and develop bands, is now looking at her burgeoning roster, wondering who might be next…
