NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Chop Shop/Atlantic Records recording artist Marina And The Diamonds has announced a number of upcoming US live shows. The news follows the recent chart entry of the acclaimed new recording artist's dazzling debut, "THE FAMILY JEWELS," which burst onto Billboard's "Top New Artist Albums" chart at No 2.

The nom de musique of Marina Diamandis, Marina And The Diamonds will perform acoustic headline shows at Los Angeles' world famous Troubadour on July 6th and San Francisco's Pop Scene on July 8th. She is also slated to perform at a pair of eagerly awaited stops on this summer's 2010 Lilith Tour, joining a remarkable line-up that includes Sarah MacLachlan, Queen Latifah, Emmylou Harris, Miranda Lambert, The Bangles, and many others. Marina And The Diamonds will join Lilith for shows on July 9th at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center and July 10th at Los Angeles' Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

What's more, Marina And The Diamonds will be making her US television debut next month with a visit to CBS' Late Show with Craig Ferguson, with an official air date to be announced later (check local listings). She will also be performing on KCRW's venerable Morning Becomes Eclectic on July 8th.

"THE FAMILY JEWELS" - already certified gold in the UK - is highlighted by the first single, "I Am Not A Robot," which was recently selected as iTunes' "Single of the Week." In addition, the companion video clip for the album's ambitious "Mowgli's Road" is already in "Medium" rotation at mtvU and has just been added to the playlist for MTV2's Subterranean.

Recent weeks have seen both Marina And The Diamonds and "THE FAMILY JEWELS" receiving a plethora of ecstatic coverage in a wide array of US media outlets, including Vogue, Interview, Fader, Teen Vogue, Spin, Nylon, Elle, Marie Claire, Entertainment Weekly, People, the New York Times, and innumerable others.

Marina And The Diamonds has already proven a sensation in the UK, where Diamandis was recently named the No 2 artist on the BBC's ever prescient "Sound of 2010" ranking. Dividing her time between her birthplace of Abergavenny in rural Wales, London and later her father's traditional family home in Greece, Diamandis developed a truly idiosyncratic aesthetic, equal parts self-deprecating songstress, unabashedly intimate lyricist, and passionate pop star-in-waiting. A sequence of '09 singles and EPs - released on the influential UK indie labels, Neon Gold (Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Your Twenties) and 679 (Little Boots, MSTRKRFT) - earned her a steady stream of admirers, both public and in the press, all in thrall to Marina's prodigious talent.

"THE FAMILY JEWELS" is proving an early contender for 2010's most distinctive debut album. Songs like the dramatic "Obsessions" and the UK Top 20 hit single, "Hollywood," see Marina gleefully melding the theatrically lavish vocal and orchestral flourishes of Kate Bush with the wonderful pop eccentricity of everyone from Sparks to the Scissor Sisters.

"Astonishing," declared NME of "THE FAMILY JEWELS" in its nine-out-of-10 rave. "Raining down on the ears like an explosion of sonic confetti, ("Hollywood") boasts a chorus so killer it should probably be investigated by the police." The New York Times fondly described Diamandis' superior songwriting, stating, "... she's redefining songs about coming of age, and the aftermath, with bluntness and crafty intelligence." Furthermore, People Magazine exclaimed, " The Family Jewels... delivers alt-pop gems on which she (Marina Diamandis) emerges as the missing link between Lady Gaga and Florence + The Machine," in their 3.5 out of 4 star review.
