What the story is about
Metropolis takes place in 2026, when the populace is divided between workers, who must live in a dark underground, and the rich, who enjoy a futuristic city of splendour. The tense relationship of these two societies is visualized through images that are among the most famous of the 20th century, many of which presage such epic movies as 2001. A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner.
This is a multimedia concert featuring a large screen projection of Fritz Lang's director's cut of Metropolis synchronized to a high tech light show, designed by Marc Brickman, and a surround sound live performance by the JMD project.
The Metropolis concert is not just an indoor multi-media event, but is also an outdoor multi-media architectural project linking several international cities. In each city involved, a specific design is set to enhance a highly visible urban site, which reflects the different steps of the Metropolis Concert. using Light, images, and music.
These urban events tantalize the public's imagination, and take residents through new experiences, sure to attract the attention of a great number of viewers to the overall project.
