Bloomfield, NJ (By Pat Hardiman/ www.pathardiman.com) - Green To Think, a New Jersey-based rock band, is currently appearing on Comcast Newsmakers to promote a wonderful cause. The segment, "Music for a Patriotic Cause," will begin airing February 15 on CNN Headline News (Channel 58) for Comcast of New Jersey.
The band is working with the National Military Family Association (NMFA) to assist in the support of families of America's troops. The band will donate all download proceeds from the song "Prisoner of War" (track 3 on their new CD "Liar Like Me") to the NMFA, a non-profit organization that helps spouses and children of America's military personnel, including those who have been deployed, wounded, or fallen in action, deal with the challenges unique to military life. NMFA provides such initiatives as free camps and after-school programs that provide coping skills for children of deployed service members, spouse scholarships, and funds to help support various military community programs. "Prisoner of War" is currently available at GREENTOTHINK.com and will be released to all major online stores including eMusic, Napster and iTunes in the immediate future.

Steven Piperno, the group's lead singer and songwriter, sites the following as his inspiration behind the song and the band's commitment to the NMFA: "Many American families experience the ultimate sacrifice associated with protecting our freedom. As citizens, we should recognize the service men and women who defend our Nation. One way to do so is to provide necessary support to the families of our fallen heroes. The NMFA does just that and we offer our music as a way to further their efforts. For less than a dollar, people can download 'Prisoner Of War' and help make a difference."

Green To Think (GTT) was formed by Pennsauken, NJ brothers Steven and David Piperno in 2000 when they self-released their first EP titled "Fireworks On The Grass." In 2002, they were courted by Fake Chapter Records to release their second EP "Sundays Were Made For This." GTT's music has been featured on MTV's "Made," various HBO series, and several independent films including "Just Tell Me," "Getting Stiffed," and "Harlem's Beauty." "Liar Like Me" is their first full-length CD release.
Green To Think's current members are Steven Piperno of Bloomfield, NJ, Nick Cavagnaro of West Orange, NJ, Scott Pohlman of Montclair, NJ, and Chris Smith of Wallington, NJ.
