New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Northern Ghost Vocalist Tony McVaney proves on the band's debut record, "Happy : Sad : Depressed : Suicidal" that he is not afraid to be raw and brutally honest with his emotions. Taking the risk to be vulnerable gives listeners the opportunity to connect with that vulnerability and address their own inner demons and struggles.
The band puts an emphasis on not only their music, but also the visual elements that accompany their songs; which is shown in this newly released video for "Heart of Stone." The simple, yet powerful imagery of McVaney conveys the intense emotion within the composition. McVaney shared, "This song was one of the more painful ones to write. The subject of being a good person who has done bad things, tearing into regret, dealing with judgement. It can weigh extremely heavy on a soul."
Everyone experiences things in their life that looking back on they may regret. Temporary lapses in judgement that end in a path normally not taken. It's within a moment of clarity that we realize that a mistake was made and now we are forced to deal with the consequences. Lyrically, the track also has a silver lining as McVaney explained, "It's also a testimony of survival. A request to be forgiven but knowing that no matter what the outcome may be, you can still find peace within yourself."
"Happy : Sad : Depressed : Suicidal" is out now on all major digital platforms with physical copies at MerchNow.
