New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - In a recent feature in UK music magazine The Word, the full-tilt title track from Paul Weller's new album '22 Dreams' (Yep Roc, July 22) is described as sounding like "every song on the 'White Album' being played by the
Beatles at the same time."
Meanwhile, Uncut Magazine calls it "One of [Weller's] sharpest slices of horn-heavy pop-punk since The Jam." The tune finds Weller collaborating with young British mods
Little Barrie, who contribute frantic, jabbing guitar and organ backing.
Lyrically the song is also significant, as it holds the key to the album's title. Weller explains, "If you listen to the lyric there's an explanation as to why there's only twenty-one tracks on ['22 Dreams']. I need to keep one for myself!"
'22 Dreams' is Weller's most ambitious, eclectic album to date - "a genuine trip" says Mojo magazine, "the risk-taking Paul Weller is back."
