LOS ANGELES (Peter Frampton Official/Beatles News Websites) - Peter Frampton will offer a special tribute to his late friend George Harrison on his summer tour, which kicks off June 18 in Oroville, California. Frampton, who played on Harrison's All Things Must Pass, will cover Harrison's Beatles classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at each of his shows.

In a statement on his official website, Frampton noted, "'Weeps' is something that I started doing with Roger Daltrey on the British Rock Symphony tour. I really enjoyed it and never had the chance to try it out with my band. When George passed away and we were doing a benefit in Cincinnati for September 11, we did it as a tribute to George. The response was incredible. It was magic for both the audience and for us. You just had to be there."

Frampton has also recorded a version of the song for inclusion on his next album, his first studio effort in nine years, which is due early next year via Pioneer Records. He will tour the U.S. into September with one side trip to Japan for the Mount Fuji Jazz Festival in August.
