Rock The Fight Against CHD

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Official Website) - August 4th will be a night of great music, a huge silent auction with outstanding prizes, free appetizers, a cash bar, and much more. Donnie Wilson, event coordinator, will be the headlining performer, releasing his first CD project since 1997 with his band, Sedated Echo. Wilson was always recognized for his soaring vocals, his gritty guitar work, and his charisma in front of a crowd, and his return to the stage has excited the local rock audience. The cause of awareness, family support, and raising research money for CHD (congenital heart defects) is now a personal mission for Wilson, as his son Jacob was born in May 2009 with CHD. During Jacob's stay at Children's Hospital Boston, the amazing doctors and nurses involved with saving his life inspired Wilson's song, 'Super Hero Fantasy', a rock ballad which is becoming somewhat of an anthem for CHD.

PLACE: Venus DeMilo Restaurant, 75 G.A.R. Hwy, Swansea, MA

Other outstanding performers will include: Andrea LeClerc (13 year old singer/musician), Blue Light District (with CHD survivor, John D'Amato), Matt Borrello and the Quality Dogs (20 yr old Borrello inspired by the likes of Dylan and the Beatles), and Mia Boostrom (17 yr old, Top 20 Finalist on NBC's America's Got Talent). NYC comedienne (born in Somerset, MA), Liz Furtado will be stopping by, and the evening will be hosted by Fall River, MA native, Michaela Gagne, Miss Massachusetts 2006 and CHD survivor who speaks internationally on the subject.

All proceeds from reservations for this event will benefit 'Helping Hands, Healing Hearts of RI' (A Chapter of Mended Little Hearts) which supports families with CHD children. All net proceeds from the silent auction will be donated in the name of 'Jacob's Fund' to Children's Hospital Boston for CHD research.
Reservations are $20 for adults ($25 at the door) and $10 for 18 and under.
