HALKIRK, Scotland (By Lani de la Motte PR) -
David Lockhart, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter has a lot to celebrate these days. From a one bedroom apartment in a town of only 1000 people, he has been able to accomplish what most artists only dream of: the opportunity to share his music with the world.
David's story is interesting as well as inspiring. From a young age he was able to recognize his talent for writing songs and would often hole himself away to put lyrics down on paper. After quitting his blue collar job to pursue music full time, he utilized his computer and a few home-recorded demos to begin contacting reps all over the globe.
Working as his own manager, Lockhart was able to focus full time on soliciting interest from top recording and publishing companies…without stepping outside his front door. 'I started at the top major record and publishing companies with the thought [that] I'd work my way down to the independent labels,' he explains.
This hard-edged approach definitely paid off and his music is now catching the interest of the likes of Sony Records, Warner Records, Universal Records, Jive and EMI Publishing, among others.
David's style is both eclectic and profound. His low, raspy voice can be hypnotic as he sings through songs about everything from love to heartache with intensity and passion. The lyrics are thought provoking and stand alone as pure poetry. This artist will make you question, ponder and wonder…right along with him.
On Monday, March 6th, David Lockhart will be interviewed live on the Dogmatic Duo Radio Show.
