New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In celebration of the holiday season, SHEL have shared a newly recorded Christmas EP as a FREE download and a stunning, homemade silhouette video for the classic holiday song "Sleigh Ride."
The 5-song EP is now available as a free download via this link: https://shel.cashmusic.org/
"This was such a wonderful year of touring and meeting listeners face to face, so we wanted to thank them for all the love and support they've shown us with a free Christmas EP," says SHEL's Eva Holbrook. "All our fond childhood memories of Christmas include a soundtrack, so we were very excited to weave our own silver thread through some of the most beautiful melodies ever written."
"We bought some eggnog and Eva went to work creating the puppets out of construction paper," says
Sarah Holbrook. "As soon as we perfected the lighting (no easy task it turns out) we started shooting for the next 2 nights. We shot each take at least ten times to make sure we had it and then it was all about the editing!"
SHEL have also launched a Pledge
Music campaign for a new compilation called The Laboratory Sessions. This new collection of music will offer fans a unique look into the band's creative process. Each track will come with commentary on the evolution of each song, original iPhone demos, alternate versions and fully produced tracks available exclusively to Pledgers. Eva Holbrook adds, "…it's our time capsule containing what has been a unique and unbridled time of experimentation in our lives."
SHEL is the acronym of four classically trained sisters:
Sarah on violin,
Hannah on keyboards, Eva on mandolin, and Liza on drums, djembe and beatboxing. The band released their 2012 debut to great acclaim, and were embraced by CMT, MTV Buzzworthy, USA Today and many more.
On January 23, SHEL will perform as the opening act of the Women's International
Music Network's She Rocks Awards in Anaheim, CA.
