LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Luck Media & Marketing) - Ellen Bukstel's powerful mix of hard-hitting songs and social activism has inspired and excited thousands of fans with straight-talking, from her soul to yours lyrics.

As the United States dedicates October as Domestic Violence Awareness month to raise money for and bring attention to this crucial cause, Bukstel (www.ellenbukstel.com) is raring to take on the world with "You're Not Better Than Me," her anti-domestic violence anthem and provocative video "Faces of Violence" (www.facesofviolence.com).

"Faces of Violence" was created for Jewish Community Services Domestic Abuse Program of South Florida and features "You're Not Better Than Me" with photos representing women and children in the community who are victims of domestic abuse. It has received more than 20,000 hits on YouTube and MySpaceTV, and has helped raise nearly $1 million for Domestic Violence outreach and education.

The video is being marketed as an educational tool promoting dialogue and healing, and provides visceral training for conferences, meetings and fundraising events as well as domestic abuse victim healing programs and outreach and support organizations.

"You're Not Better Than Me" won the prestigious 2008 Breaking The Silence In Song Competition judged by Michael Bolton, Ben E. King, Cissy Houston, Run-DMC and Warner Music VP Kevin Lyles. It has become the theme song for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV). Social activist Bolton says, "Ellen Bukstel's beautiful voice and poignant lyrics create an anthem and a voice for the thousands of survivors and victims of Domestic Violence who hopefully now know that they are not alone. Watch the video, listen to the song and you will know what I know-that Ellen has managed to capture the horror of Domestic Violence while providing hope for thousands...all in a ballad that stands on its own as a great song."

"You're Not Better Than Me" also placed in the Top 40 of the 2008 Public Domain Foundation Music To Life songwriting competition, launched by Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul & Mary fame) to discover songwriters who address important social issues.

Bukstel is available for performances, as well as T.V. and radio interviews, for coverage of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. Her video "Faces of Violence" is also available for media use.
