Speaking on the new release, Aled, the banjo player of Smokey Bastard, said, 'It's been a long process but we're extremely excited to have the new material out in the open and for it to be finally making it in to peoples ears."

The new album takes the next step in the band's progression. Over the years, Smokey Bastard have seen a number of line up changes and with each new member brings something new to the mix. When the band started, their aim was to emulate bands like Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, but as we time went on, they worked hard on sculpting their own signature sound. During the writing of the second album, 'Tales From The Wasteland', they were branching out heavily from the well-trodden Celtic-Punk template. The new album, 'Back To The Drawing Room' is still recognisable as Smokey Bastard, but keeps going in the same direction with thier own, unique take on Folk-Punk, while incorporating a wide range of influences from the current band members.

After touring the UK and mainland Europe, playing a live Maida Vale session for the BBC Radio 1 Punk Show and countless festival appearances, Smokey Bastard have now released their third offering, "Back to the Drawing Room". With a more progressive approach to rhythm and song writing, Smokey Bastard are pushing the limits of what you thought Folk-Punk could be.
