PHILADELPHIA, PA. (Top40 Charts/ WXPN) - WXPN (http://www.xpn.org), the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A (Album Adult Alternative) music and noncommercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania today announced that the first 'Lillywhite Sessions at Avatar Studios,' will air tomorrow at various times throughout the country on NPR syndicated WORLD CAFE radio show hosted by David Dye. These sessions will be an ongoing feature of WORLD CAFE. A multiple GRAMMY winner, Steve Lillywhite is best known for producing U2, Dave Matthews Band and Peter Gabriel.

Since its inaugural airing on October 14, 1991, the WORLD CAFE with host David Dye has served up an eclectic mix of music: rock, world, folk, blues, alternative country, and more. The program showcases performances and interviews with some of the most exciting musicians today'both emerging artists and celebrated favorites. This acclaimed and award-winning program is produced by WXPN in Philadelphia and syndicated to more than 185 stations nationally.

Steve Lillywhite entered the music scene when he was 17 with Polygram studios in London as a tape operator and has been working with music for more than 35 years. Lillywhite has produced songs and albums with bands such as U2, Dave Matthews Band, Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel, XTC, the La's and Morrissey. He has won GRAMMY Awards for Producer of the Year, Best Rock Album, and Album of the year for U2's album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. He is known for his ability to inspire artists and has been instrumental in shaping many career-making albums and songs.
