Brentwood, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - More than $340,000 was raised between last fall and March 2008 for Shaohannah's Hope through the 'Change for Orphans' campaign held in association with Steven Curtis Chapman's recent national concert tour. The American singer is now in China with his band to continue international efforts for orphan causes.
One hundred families in need of financial aid to adopt a child will directly benefit from these newly raised funds. The Change for Orphans campaign initially invited concertgoers to donate extra pocket money however they could and led to inspiring accounts of children and adults alike challenging their churches, local businesses, circles of friends, and beyond to join in the effort. In related news, Chapman continues to win new fans with his latest album THIS MOMENT and its multi-format hit single 'Cinderella' which continues to climb the Christian and general market radio pop charts. Chapman was also recently inducted into Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame (along with Hank Williams, Sr. and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) and won three trophies at the 39th Annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards ceremony, bringing his all-time highest winner total to 54.
