Austin, TC (Top40 Charts/ Austin Wine & Music Festival) Award-winning
Texas wineries, local artisan breweries and some of the best
Texas musicians will pour it on May 28-29 for the 2011 Austin Wine &
Music Festival in the backyard of The Domain in northwest Austin.
"This festival is the only winery-owned event of its kind where people can learn about Texas wines one glass at a time," says festival creator and Texas Hill Country Wineries executive director Katy Jane Bothum. "People have been quick to becoming locavores by buying food locally, but slower to become loca-pours. AW&MF increases awareness about the vast array of quality Texas wines found within an afternoon's drive to Texas' wine country or down the street at their local wine and grocery stores."
With a portion of festival proceeds benefitting Texas non-profit Operation FINALLY HOME which builds mortgage-free homes for veterans, the third-annual Austin Wine & Music Festival features great Texas wine, musicians and artisan breweries, giving revelers the chance to sample the very best locally made wine, beer, port, food, music and cigars.

Friday evening's special Vintners' Dinner & Auction presented by Cadillac features music by Grammy-nominated saxophonist Joe Pasada, an elaborate five-course dinner with Texas' finest chefs, strolling Sommelier Bill Elsey and benefit auction. On Saturday and Sunday, festival-goers can attend educational seminars featuring award-winning wine educators/authors, local chef demonstrations, wine mixology, Texas Hill Country olive oil and cigar & port tasting while enjoying THE MUSIC.
"Austin is known as the world's live music capital and this is the finest music lineup we've ever had," Bothum says. "Everything from new artists discovered within our famous city limits to national acts like Saturday's headliner Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights and the cult status of Turnpike Troubadours who play Sunday. Good wine and live music just go together."
