New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This fall, Southern California-based band The Brevet will release their alternative rock album LEGS on October 12th. Following-up from their highly acclaimed sophomore LP, American Novel, the band evolves into a new sound heavily influenced by spending years on the road. The upcoming record is a powerfully charged work, full of gritty soulful vocals and distorted guitar riffs. Pre-orders are available via PledgeMusic here. Today, The Brevet releases a video for their gravelly version of Bruce Springsteen's "
I'm On Fire" which has become a regular in their setlist.
LEGS is The Brevet's third studio album and stands for "L"ike "E"very "G"reat "S"tory. Staying true to its made-up acronym, The Brevet's upcoming alternative rock album contains all elements of a memorable tale; reflecting the band's growth and maturity leading up to the explosive new record. Frontman Aric Chase Damm explains, "Our band has been through an evolution these last couple years. We absolutely love the writing and recording process, but somewhere along the way, our focus shifted more towards touring and performing live, and the music we were creating just naturally started to reflect that energy...We're writing in a way we want to write now. I'm not trying to follow trends; I just want to write from my heart."
The Brevet recently released their new single off of the upcoming album called, "So Long." The band describes the anthem-driven track as a search for life's purpose. Damm states, "Whatever it is that makes you happy—family, love, career, faith, mental health—some people find it right away, and other people spend their whole lives looking for it." Listen to "
So Long" HERE.
Praised for their road-warrior attitude, this year The Brevet has toured with Magic Giant and performed on major festival stages BottleRock and Firefly, in addition to numerous headline shows. They will finish their final summer tour dates this month, and embark on a new journey leading into the fall. The newly announced dates include a combination of headline shows and shared dates with rock band Melodime.
