New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ABC PR) THE DEAR HUNTER has teamed up with Spotify for an exclusive contest in connection with their epic nine-EP collection, THE COLOR SPECTRUM, which is out now on Triple Crown Records.
Fans are being asked to create their own version of THE COLOR SPECTRUM using their Spotify account. Similar to THE COLOR SPECTRUM Full Length CD version, the playlist must contain at least one song from each EP (RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO and VIOLET, with WHITE and BLACK), and contain no more than 14 tracks.
In advance of the contest's launch, the band will be release 100 much sought-after, Beta invites to Spotify via their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/therealTDH), which is also where the contest rules can be found.
THE DEAR HUNTER will review each playlist and select their favorite. The Grand Prize is a 8G iPod Nano, signed vinyl version of THE COLOR SPECTRUM and the winning playlist will be posted on the band's official Spotify page. Two runner ups will get signed vinyl copies of THE COLOR SPECTRUM (both are the single LP version, not the entire collection).
Critical acclaim for THE COLOR SPECTRUM comes from Alternative Press, Consequence of Sound and SPIN, the latter of whom proclaims it "a sprawling, heady mix, merging some of the challenging piano work of latter day Ben Folds Five with a bit of Muse-y, glam rock melodrama."
