The Mistress Of Soulful, Edgy, Avant-Bubblegum Pop Is Back With A New EP Featuring The Pioneer Of Tribal Drumming
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Vision Music Promotions) London based Lettie hails from Suffolk and has released three albums recorded with the American producer and writer, David Baron 'Age of Solo' and 'Everyman' in 2008 and 'Good Fortune, Bad Weather' in 2012. The self-released albums gained much critical acclaim. Lettie met Dave Barbarossa 2 years ago and suggested writing a few tracks using his drums as the starting point.

The tracks were recorded live with very few overdubs. The result is a 3 track EP with Dave Barbarossa full of lush, avant-bubblegum pop, entitled 'Crossroads', out on 18 August and mixed by Grammy Award winner Cameron Craig. Lettie meanwhile is working on her fourth and last album to come out later this year with Mark Vernon.

Legendary Dave Barbarossa as drummer for both Adam and the Ants and Bow Wow Wow was instrumental in creating the "Tribal" drumming trend that was popular among British and some American bands in the 70s and 80s. Having made a huge mark on punk music before drumming with Republica in the mid 1990s, he continues to perform with Adam Ant and his own band Cauldronated.

Reviews of new album 'Good Fortune, Bad Weather' (Outerworld Records June 27th 2012) tipped as one of the best albums of 2012 by Mark Beech (December 2012) https://www.dantemag.com/2012/12/music-of-quality-and-distinction/

'Tracks such as Bitter, Never Want to Be Alone, Pandora, Fitter, Crash and Burn and Come Back are terrific, snap-snap-snap pop songs. The issue of how come we've never heard of Lettie before has duly been solved' Tony Clayton-Lea The Irish Times **** May 2012

Lettie, a U.K. singer-songwriter, is another one to watch. Her "Good Fortune, Bad Weather" is a strong collection of electro-pop, ranging from the bouncy "Lucky" to the gentle "Bitter." Rating: ***Bloomberg August 2012

"Unsigned singer-songwriter Lettie crafts an excellent collection of folk-dance pop with her debut album, offering a mix of electronic beats, breathy vocals and an alternative vibe that makes her hard to classify." *** MSN May 2012

'Lighter hearted in sound than the likes of the sometimes icy-sounding Ladytron or Fever Ray, it's baffling why a major label hasn't taken a chance on Lettie yet....' ***** from Musicmuso.com April 2012

'Lettie' is bubblegum pop's cooler older sister and her latest album 'Good Fortune, Bad Weather' will make you want to know her better' by Wang at greenmanmusic.biz April 2012

'Without the support of a major label and with complete self-motivation and integrity, Lettie has crafted this fully-fledge piece of artwork with a sound result exactly how she wanted it to be' Alix Blankson at Planetnotion.com April 2012

'Overall, it sounds like Lettie has waited long enough and worked hard enough to deserve her own musical success, and from the quality of this album it seems like she has the talent to get it too.' Sam Saunders Poppedculture.co.uk March 2012

'Basically this one hell of an album. Every song is strong, different from each other, original, inventive, charming, supremely catchy and above all extremely entertaining.' richardadams-ramblings.blogspot.co.uk March 2012

'…Lettie ticks all the boxes and so many more on her third album, the world of pop has never sounded so inviting.' Rhythm & Booze Rating 9/10 March 2012

' Lettie! I just don't know really! She's enigmatic to me. I get drawn in by her sunbright rays that are her songs, and once in there begin to realise that I'm being brought to stories that make me think about things that I should have been thinking about but never thought about thinking about in that way- and all the while still tapping my foot and humming that irresistible hook .ummm……..' Peter Murphy, February 2012

'Lettie is a really fine musician : great lyrics, lovely melodies. Neither too predictable nor too self-consciously arty. She has impressive eclectic taste yet remains very original. She would be appreciated by many if they could only hear her!' Anthony Phillips, February 2012

'I love Lettie's music, her music always makes me smile and then think about why I am smiling. She is just herself in her music, no pretension, just Lettie with a passion. I've been lucky enough to work with Lettie and what she brought to my music was just as giving. She is a precious English talent.' Roger O' Donnell, February 2012

'If this evening had been only allowed one artist, it has got to be Lettie…Lettie is exquisiteness & sheer brilliance…because of the hectic goings -on of this one girl you are hypnotized by witnessing the art. The crowd are held, speechless every time Lettie plays in this way.' Miniminimovie.com April 2011

'Lettie is an almost-solo artist … the resulting songs are tougher things than you might imagine - excursions into pointed pop that steer clear of dreaded easy-listening singer-songwriter territory by virtue of their punch and attitude.' O2 Review November 2009 Nemesis To Go https://www.nemesis.to/petermurphylive

'Age of Solo, the fantastic 2008 debut disc from super-talented British chanteuse Lettie.' ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY'S'POP WATCH' December 2008

'Age Of Solo is a colourful, tight collection of songs full of sweet, naïve melodies, offset with glowing and lavish production...Letties songs are a masterclass in soulful, edgy avant-pop.' *****Wears The Trousers October 2008

'Lettie should really be signed to a major label on the strength of this album and we also think that her album cover is second only to Parralox....'Age of Solo' is lovely and perfect late night listening to a glass of wine.' https://www.league-online.com/ November/ December 2008

"But the highlight is London-based singer-songwriter Lettie (myspace.com/lettiemusic) whose electro-pop 'All You Want' is as honey-sweet as you'll hear." The Guardian July 2007
