NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Girls Rock & Girls Rule) - Armed with guitars, basses, drum sets and instruments galore, eight femmetastic bands will reunite for their best show yet - the 2008 Girls Rock & Girls Rule 7th Anniversary Show! GRGR returns to the NYC stage and the awesome nightspot Ace of Clubs on Saturday, December 6, 2008, for its annual holiday shindig, with core bands G-Spot, Marisa Mini & Her Mojo, Loki the Grump, America's Sweetheart, RewBee and special guests Royal Pink, Cheap Perfume and The Rosies.

GRGR, a seven-year-old, New York City-based organization dedicated to showcasing up-and-coming women in music, continues to bring new meaning to the term 'chick rock.' Ladies appearing in GRGR play music focused in the heavier rock genres such as indie rock, punk, hardcore, mathrock, metal etc

And the NYC show offers audiences an entire evening of awesome music for just $10!! Plus, the admission is a tax-deductible donation and includes raffle tickets for cool prizes, specials from our sponsor Fuze, and a chance for audience members to enter to win their very own Rock Candy guitar from Daisy Rock.

Girls Rock & Girls Rule will continue its mission of giving back, currently supporting the next generation of girls who rock through its ongoing partnership with Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls. The Brooklyn, NY-based camp receives a portion of the proceeds from each event.

The event is the final showcase of the year for GRGR, and comes after a big 2008 tour spanning 12 cities including New Haven, CT, Montclair, NJ, Levittown, NY, Washington, DC, Norfolk, VA, Chapel Hill, NC, Spartanburg, SC, Tucker, GA, Nashville, TN, Cincinnati, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Baltimore, MD and culminating in showcases at premiere Music Festivals including NY's own CMJ Music Marathon and the MidAtlantic Music Conference in Charlotte, NC.

More than 25 bands participated in the '08 tour. Local bands across various cities also included Shiragirl, Curly and The Rocket, Tami D'Mar, Princess & The Criminals, Pink Flag, South 85, S, Kink Ador, ShotgunDiary, SoulShine, Entheos, The Banana Convention, Lovebettie, Motorpsychos, ZoiRose, Elise Major, Victims of Experience, Infernophonic, New Day Dawn, Jan Loe, All Out Riot, and Dormitory Effect.

About Girls Rock & Girls Rule:
The time has come for a platform that will bring attention to all the fantastic women who are making the kind of music people want to hear. These are not re-touched pop princesses or radio clones. They are one-of-a-kind innovators ready to show the world just how hard they can rock! For the past seven years Girls Rock & Girls Rule has established itself as the premier organization dedicated to promoting and showcasing the hottest, upcoming and established female rockers on the music scene. As GRGR continues to grow, its mission is the same as it's always been: to create awareness and exposure for independent female rock artists while helping women and girls in the community.

GRGR would not be possible without the help of sponsors and contributors, including Rolling Rock, Fuze, AirPlay Direct, Daisy Rock, D'Addario, Jakprints, Noisy Planet, Sam Ash, Shure and Sonicbids.

About Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls:
Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls was founded in 2004 and is a New York City-based non-profit summer day camp serving girls ages 8-18. The program offers girls the chance to learn how to play musical instruments, write songs, perform and generally "rock out" in a supportive environment that fosters self-confidence, self-esteem, creativity, tolerance and collaboration. The camp is named after Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton, a blues and rock performer/songwriter who was one of the first women to play the music that came to be known as "rock n' roll." The camp grew out of the Portland, Oregon-based program Rock n' Roll Camp for Girls, which was founded in 2000. www.williemaerockcamp.org
